I lampshade it - Andrew asks what sort of a third-rate superhero is the Blue Beetle, anyway? and Harry gives him a two-or-three-sentence outline of his Golden Age incarnation: cop with secret identity, bulletproof suit, super-strength from Vitamin X-2. Harry is a bit of a comics geek, in my head.
