THIS THING REALLY NEEDS A TITLE
Aug. 3rd, 2012 01:32 amProject: Napoleonic Era Arthurian Romance With A Happy Ending
Deadline: Labor Day-ish
New words written: 2828
Present total word count: 76167
Mean things: Lieutenant angst; heroine rolls a botch on her seduction attempt
Fun things: Biblical quote; caraway knots; hornbeam arch
Stimulants: Midafternoon coffee
Lots and lots of the lieutenant angsting. All the way from breakfast to dinner, and, strictly speaking, after dinner too. There is a section of dialogue I'll need to go back and cram in to break it up a bit.
Then a careful setup by the viscount and the heroine so she can get the lieutenant alone and proposition him. And... BOTCH. Didn't work. To both their misery.
And then I wrote the heroine taking her misery to her husband, and the reassurance. Because the viscount picked up a clue he OUGHT to have had before, about WHY it failed, and he understands what he'll have to tell T if there's to be any hope at all.
AND I SWEAR I THINK I CAN FINISH IT TOMORROW.
